The Antoinettes Podcast
Two smartasses debate a new topic each week. Nothing is off the table and we won't always break bread. Welcome to the sh*tshow!
Welcome to The Antoinettes podcast first newsletter! We are now two months in and on our latest episode “Standing Room Only: The Fight for Accessibility for People with Disability”, Antoinette Lattouf & Azure Antoinette (aka…The Antoinettes!) spoke about the lack of accessibility that people living with disabilities face daily. From it taking our very own Azure almost two years and $40,000 to get her service dog Bella here; only to then be denied travel by two airlines once finally in Australia, to the Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott being stranded on a plane for two hours because they lost his wheelchair.
The United Nations declares it a basic human right to grant persons with disabilities liberty of movement, and yet Australia is still lagging behind other western nations when it comes to accessibility.
Thankfully our Azure has just been reunited with her beloved Bella. Just look at these happy faces. We've loved hearing from our listeners about their experiences of traveling with a disability. Keep the voice memos coming!
